Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines content and conduct that is not permitted on the BookDesignerAI Service. The AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. We apply this policy both to protect our customers and to comply with the policies of the third-party AI providers whose services we use.

If you upload, generate, or attempt to process content that violates this AUP, we may refuse to process the content, suspend or terminate your account without refund, retain reasonable evidence for legal compliance, and where required by law, report the matter to appropriate authorities.

1. Strictly prohibited content

You may not use the Service to create, upload, or attempt to process any of the following:

2. Restricted use cases

Some content and use cases are not strictly prohibited but require additional care. We may decline to process material that falls into these categories, or may require additional verification:

3. Account and access conduct

In addition to the content rules above, you agree not to:

4. AI-output review responsibility

The Service uses AI providers to generate output based on your inputs. AI output is probabilistic and may include errors, factual inaccuracies, omissions, or stylistic choices you disagree with. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated output before publication. If your manuscript contains factual claims about real people, places, or events, you must verify those claims independently before publishing. If your cover artwork resembles a real person, you are responsible for any rights-of-publicity implications.

5. Reporting violations

If you believe content on the Service violates this AUP, or you believe you have been the target of a violation (for example, your work has been plagiarized), report the matter to cantos@bookdesigner.ai with the relevant details. We review reports promptly and act on them as appropriate.

If you believe a manuscript on the Service is CSAM, you may also report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

6. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP are not always obvious from inputs alone; we may rely on a combination of automated screening, AI-provider safety classifiers, and human review. Our response is generally proportional to the severity of the violation:

For CSAM and similar absolutely-prohibited content, we act immediately and without notice.

7. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time, particularly as the policies of our AI providers evolve. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and will take effect upon posting.

8. Contact

Questions about this AUP, requests for clarification on whether a specific use case is permitted, and reports of violations should be sent to cantos@bookdesigner.ai.
